We are thrilled to be able to invite you to share in our uniquely magical, musical collaboration with world-renowned clarinettist, Emma Johnson, by joining us at one of our upcoming festive concerts in Guildford (26th November) or Lamberhurst (10th December). The combination of soaring vocal melodies with the timbre of the clarinet is not to be missed.
Stunning range of repertoire
Our festive programme this year presents a scintillating array of repertoire, ranging from newly arranged traditional Christmas melodies to exquisite festive compositions from China and Ukraine, alongside some much-loved audience favourites. The defining thread, and what makes this concert so special, is the array of female composers showcased within the programme, including compositions and arrangements by Emma Johnson herself.
As those of you who have joined us at our events before will know, our ethos at Corra Sound is to focus on and celebrate female perspectives through our work and performances. This festive programme is no exception, featuring stunning works by Winnie Bruckner, Sarah Deere-Jones, Kelly-Marie Murphy and Stef Conner, alongside those of Emma Johnson and my own new arrangement of the Wexford Carol.
This repertoire is complimented by some traditional favourites including Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Elgar’s The Snow – originally for upper voices and two violins – Pearsall’s In Dulci Jubilo and the much-loved Cantique de Noël, better known as “O Holy Night”.

Songs of Celebration (Guildford), 26th November 2023
Will you join us as we return to Guildford for this very special candlelit concert at 5pm on Sunday 26th November at St Nicolas Church, Guildford? Set just off the High Street, we hope this will be convenient location for many of our audience and followers. We'll be serving refreshments in the interval, and we are greatly looking forward to both welcoming and entertaining you.
Lamberhurst Music Festival - 10th December 2023
For those who are unable to join us in Guildford or for whom Kent is more convenient, there's also the opportunity to come along to the Lamberhurst Music Festival (Kent) at 7.30pm on Sunday 10th December, at St Mary's Church, Lamberhurst, where we'll be performing the same core repertoire, along with carols for audience participation.
